Vidant Medical Center has opportunities for all levels of nursing professionals across several specialties including:
Adult Medicine – This division offers patient care services in medical ICU and intermediate units, bone marrow transplant, and other general service units.
Trauma and Surgical Services – This division offers patient care services in surgical ICU and intermediate units, orthopedics, and general surgery units.We also offer perioperative services in Anesthesia Holding, OR, PACU, and our Ambulatory Surgery unit. Within our 25 OR suites, we conduct 18,500 surgeries per year and specialize in Robotic Surgery, Cardiovascular, and Trauma.
Cardiac – This division was recognized by U.S. News & World Report as one of the nation's top 50 hospitals for cardiovascular services and as a Solucient Top 100 Hospital for cardiovascular services.
Our new East Carolina Heart Institute is the first facility in North Carolina devoted exclusively to the research, treatment and prevention of cardiovascular diseases.
Rehab – This division is CARF accredited with 75 rehab beds including services for spinal cord injury, pediatric rehab, and traumatic brain injury.
Children's Hospital – Our 122-bed Children's hospital admits 7,300 children each year and treats another 31,000 outpatient visits.
Women's Services – Our Family Birthing Center delivers about 3,500 babies a year.
Emergency Services – The Emergency Department has 58 beds and handles approximately 48,000 patients per year. Additionally, MedDirect is an eight bed freestanding ED extension that provides walk-in care to another 22,000 patients per year.
Behavioral Health – Offering complete care services in General Adult, Geriatric, Acute Care, and Mentally Retarded/Mental Illness.
