Your First Steps Are Most Important.
At Vidant Medical Center, you’ll get support before you begin your nursing duties. For starters, you’ll get a thorough orientation to your unit. Your orientation will balance classroom instruction with clinical experience. The goal is to enhance your critical thinking and interpersonal and technical skill under the personal guidance of a clinical coach. Because we use the Performance Based Development System for assessments, we can identify your individual needs and tailor an orientation to maximize your training and development opportunities. Our on-boarding program for new graduates prepares you to function independently as a safe and competent nurse. In addition to the classroom and clinical experiences, we provide social support through the Go for the Gold program.
